Amazing Grazing – Now Open
Owner and Apex native Glynis Teator has opened a charcuterie and catering business—Amazing Grazing—at 1460 Chapel Ridge Road, Suite 170. (Not sure what charcuterie is? Think cheese and crackers meets antipasto, and then amp it up.) Served on a wooden cutting board or stone slab, charcuterie is as much about the design as it is about the assortment of meats, cheeses, crackers, spreads, nuts, fruits, and other components. Amazing Grazing will prepare Southern-inspired boards or gathering tables for you, or you can take a class to learn how to put one together on your own. Learn more at ncamazinggrazing.com.
The Tulip Magnolia – Now Open
From travel boutique to 106 W. Chatham Street, The Tulip Magnolia is now open in Downtown Apex across from the Apex Baptist Church parking lot. This size-inclusive shop offers quality clothing, footwear, accessories, and jewelry; home décor and holiday items; and unique gifts for every occasion. Stop in and visit their new store from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday or shop online at thetulipmagnolia.com.
Eggs Up Grill – Coming Soon
As their website says, Eggs Up Grill in Apex is “almost hatched!” Their new location at 1421 Kelly Road in the Publix Pointe Shopping Center will soon be home to this breakfast, brunch, and lunch favorite. From pancakes, waffles and French toast to bowls, burgers and BLTs, Eggs Up Grill will be an “eggciting” addition to the Apex eat-out scene.
Paris Delight – Opening Soon
Although it’s not customary for us to tell you about food trucks, this one is quite unique. It’s being opened by two sisters who were refugees from Laos. At a very young age their family moved to France from a refugee camp in Thailand. One of the sisters became a French pastry chef.
They will be offering homemade French pastries, sweet and savory crepes, but also their unique French Layered Donuts (the perfect combination of a French croissant and a donut). Both sisters live in Apex, and wanted to offer Apex a taste of France.
The truck will be permanently parked at the corner of E. Williams Street and S. Mason Street, just west of Apex Middle School, in the same lot as Mr A’s Beignets. Look for their grand opening in April.
Mi Cancun
Mi Cancun is getting ready to open their ninth location in the Raleigh area. The restaurant is moving in at 809 E. Williams Street, formerly the location of The Taco Factory. We reached out for an expected opening date, but didn’t hear back. They already have locations in Holly Springs and Morrisville.
Chick-fil-A – Proposed
Chick-fil-A might have a new home at 1075 S. Hughes Street. Plans for a 5,240-square-foot restaurant have been submitted to build on the corner of Apex Peakway and S. Hughes St., near the intersection of E. Williams St. and US Hwy 1, on a three-acre lot.
