Here in Apex, community pride is more than a sentiment — it’s a shared responsibility! The Town of Apex Neighborhood Beautification Grant is a program that connects the community to resources that enhance the places and spaces residents call home.
Whether it’s a community garden, a public mural, or a revitalized gathering space, this grant empowers neighborhoods to dream big and bring those visions to life.
What Is the Neighborhood Beautification Grant?
The Neighborhood Beautification Grant is a competitive program, administered by the Community Engagement Division of the Community Development and Neighborhood Connections Department, that provides up to $2,000 in funding for projects that improve the appearance, function, and community spirit of Apex neighborhoods. It’s designed to support resident-led initiatives that enhance public spaces and foster collaboration.
Projects must be located within the Town of Apex or its extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) and serve a public purpose — meaning they benefit the broader neighborhood, not just individual properties.

Setting the Example: Grant Recipients from Year 1
The inaugural year of the grant program saw enthusiastic participation from neighborhoods across Apex. Projects ranged from neighborhood clean-up and landscaping efforts to initiatives aimed at creating inviting spaces for residents to gather. The Community Engagement team received proposals from 11 neighborhoods and awarded funding to 10 neighborhoods including:
Chelsea Run
Crocketts Ridge
Dogwood Ridge 2/Cameron Park
Haddon Hall
Jordan Manors
Justice Heights
Lake Castleberry
Oak Pointe
Towns at Old Mill Village
Woodall Estates
The projects weren’t brought to life solely by the awarded grants; some neighborhoods contributed matching funds through volunteer labor, donations, or direct financial support. This collaborative program resulted in a wave of grassroots improvements that not only beautified neighborhoods but also deepened civic pride and connections within our community.
