Strong and vibrant communities are built through intention, connection, collaboration, and a shared commitment to making a difference. In Apex, the Community Engagement Division creates opportunities for residents to learn, serve, and connect throughout the year.
Every month, residents across Apex come together to learn something new, volunteer alongside neighbors, share ideas, and help shape the future of our community. Whether you’re attending a B⁴: Brown Bags to Building Bridges Lunch & Learn, participating in CommUniversity, volunteering during Think Apex Day, or simply meeting new neighbors at a Town event, every opportunity helps strengthen the connections that make Apex feel like home.
You’re invited to be a part of the connections that continue to make Apex a vibrant and engaged community.
CommUniversity
CommUniversity is a monthly educational series that offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at local government while building leadership skills, strengthening civic engagement, and fostering community connections.
The August 27 session is focused on Back-to-School Community Connects. As a new school year begins, join us for a special CommUniversity workshop designed to connect residents with valuable information, local resources, and community partners that support students, families, and educators.
Other upcoming CommUniversity sessions include:
September 24 – Emergency Preparedness 101
October 22 – Apex Cares Home Repair Workshop: Small Repairs. Lasting Comfort.
November 19 – Topic to be announced
B⁴: Brown Bags to Building Bridges
B⁴: Brown Bags to Building Bridges is a quarterly Lunch & Learn series that provides residents with an inside look at Town departments, projects, and initiatives while encouraging meaningful conversations with Town staff.
The September 3 session of B⁴ highlights the Planning Department with an interactive behind-the-scenes look at how the Town plans for future growth and development through collaborative, transparent, and community-focused planning processes.
On December 3, we turn our attention to the Building Inspections & Permitting Department. We’ll see you then!
Think Apex Day – September 12
Residents, businesses, neighborhoods, and community organizations are invited to participate in our annual community-wide day of service. Whether you’re volunteering individually or with a group, Think Apex Day offers meaningful opportunities to give back while making a positive impact throughout Apex.

Stay Connected Year-Round
Looking to stay engaged beyond our signature events? The Community Engagement Division offers year-round opportunities that encourage learning, civic engagement, and community connection.
Residents can also get involved through the Neighborhood Registry, Neighborhood Beautification Grant, Neighborhoods Chat & Chew, and the Neighborhood Leaders Program, which are each designed to strengthen neighborhoods, encourage collaboration, and build lasting community connections.
Whether you’ve called Apex home for years or are new to our community, getting involved is one of the best ways to meet your neighbors, connect with Town staff, and develop practical skills that can benefit your personal life, professional career, and neighborhood. Together, we’re building a community where everyone has the opportunity to belong, contribute, and thrive.
