Vegan Community Kitchen is owned and run by Mother Pastry Chef Sadiye, Daughter Sales Manager Cansu and Sister Vegan Chef Oya who opened their first location in Istanbul, Turkey in 2012.
The family aims to share Mediterranean, authentic, delicious, wholesome, plant-based food that fuels and energizes without compromising flavor, taste or satisfaction.
The restaurant is 100% vegan—for the uninitiated, this means whatever you order from Vegan Community Kitchen doesn’t contain any animal-derived products—including meat, seafood, dairy, eggs or honey.
Their menu features locally-sourced ingredients, and is made fresh daily, including freshly baked grains, vegetables and gluten flour or gluten-free flour.
“We realize that everyone comes with different expectations and different cultural backgrounds. We are flexible and adaptable, and that includes recognizing dietary restrictions. Gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free options are available,” Sadiye told us.
“We want to make sure that people are aware that they don’t have to be vegan; we don’t need to eat as much meat as we do (in most cases) so we want to make sure that everybody has an option that is still delicious despite the vegan label.”
