When was the last time you were in the Peak of Good Living for PeakFest?
Go all in with Apex during the sesquicentennial celebration to discover for yourself why this festival is one of the town’s 150 featured ways to celebrate Apex. There is an irresistible charm that attracts record crowds to the historic downtown business district the first Saturday each May.
What started as a few tables featuring arts and crafts in a church parking lot has grown into one of Apex’s largest and longest-running festivals. This festival showcases what makes Apex home. It’s a panoramic display of community. The art, the music, the food and the performers enchant and delight attendees. Generations of families and newcomers have filled the streets for 42 years to experience the sights, sounds and flavor of PeakFest.
From Hunter Street to Moore Street, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy. There will be over 120 arts and crafts vendors from Apex as well as the entire southeast. Families will find Kid’s Zone in its new location near Moore Street, directly on Salem Street this year. Attendees that appreciate live performance should take advantage of back-to-back performers from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the Thompson Street and Depot stages. Sesquicentennial celebration fans, make sure your footsteps include a stroll over to the town’s 150th passport checkpoint. Pick up a visa sticker, which puts you one step closer to collecting exclusive Apex swag. Everyone is encouraged to visit the town’s 150th website, https://apex150.com, to research each of the 149 other events that should be part of your sesquicentennial year of celebration.
Peak City Family Dentistry returns as the title sponsor of PeakFest 2023. The practice has been part of the fabric of the Apex community since establishing in 2006. They are a modern family dental practice located right in downtown Apex, specializing in same-day crowns, dental implants and more. You’ll find their energy and resources in the footprint of the community supporting events and programs. The on-going support of Peak City Family Dentistry and 25 additional business sponsors is essential to the success of the festival.
Through sponsorship, the festival commission can award at least $12,000 annually to deserving organizations making an impact in the Apex and surrounding community. The grant program was incorporated into the festival over 10 years ago and this initiative to give back to the community earned the festival commission an Apex Top Thinker Award in 2016.
Youth of all ages should plan to put on their dancing shoes and stay all day to experience the hometown warmth Apex offers. Greet friends, form new relationships, support local businesses, and learn about non-profits making a difference in the Peak. Engage with Apex town employees from every department in festival tents. Learn about their hard work behind the scenes keeping the town running, as well as discover what’s happening with upcoming projects, daily operations, and public safety programs.
