Sushi SUYU – Now Open
Dean Park is an Apex resident and the co-owner of Sushi SUYU with his brother, Sung Park. Their head sushi chef has more than 20 years of experience and their main focus will be on sushi with some Japanese- and Korean-inspired kitchen dishes. Dean has a sake certification as a Certified Sake Professional and Sushi SUYU plans to offer a variety of sake (and wine and Japanese beer) that pairs well with their menu. Sushi SUYU is now open at 301 N. Salem Street, Suite 105, in Salem Heritage Park in Downtown Apex (where Pizza Hut once was).
Tap Station – Now Open
Don’t let the name fool you! This is not just a brewery, but a full-service restaurant to appease even the pickiest of eaters. Tap Station is not new in the game. If you’ve eaten at Scratch Kitchen & Taproom or The Mason Jar Tavern, then you’ve already experienced the team that put Tap Station together. Located at the corner of W. Williams St. (Hwy 55) and S. Salem Street, there is plenty to watch from either the outdoor seating area on the ground floor, or the second floor balcony. There are full bars on both levels, and even games outside to keep the kids busy. The theme of the restaurant is an old garage, tipping their hat to the previous tenant Holt & Sons. Peak Rehabilitation Hospital – Proposed
The Town is looking at a proposal for a two-story, 61,139-square-foot facility at 5301 Apex Peakway in Apex. The building would sit on just over 4.6 acres. The lot is at the corners of Apex Peakway, Olive Chapel Road, and Zeno Road.
Kiddie Academy – Proposed
A proposal has been submitted for a Kiddie Academy to be built at 3300 US 64 Hwy W. The property is just under 3.5 acres, and the building proposal is for a little more than 10,300 square feet. Kiddie Academy has been open corporately for just over 40 years. Currently there is a location in Fuquay-Varina, and one in Cary. The franchisee for the Apex location is not affiliated with the other locations.
If approved, the plan is to open late 2022 or early 2023.
